Mother Nature is obviously one wicked woman and not a racing fan as once again she turned on the faucets high above the Accord Speedway and brought a quick halt to the proposed racing action planned this evening for the Ulster County facility. Another exhilirating evening of exciting racing highlighted the Wednesday night action at the Accord Speedway as the eleventh Midweek Madness show was presented for a nice crowd on hand for the quick-hitting racing program. Accord Speedway Hits Double Digits In Rainouts As It Suffers Tenth Cancellation In 2009 Racing Season

With the forces of Mother Nature once again rising to the occasion, the gates at the Accord Speedway will once again remained closed this evening. The cancellation brings the grand total of rainouts this year to ten for the Friday night shows and another two for the Wednesday night shows. Accord Speedway was able to complete it’s tenth Wednesday evening Midweek Madness show despite the fact pockets of rain were scattered throughout the Hudson Valley a good part of the day. Promoter Gary Palmer had his quarter mile speedplant in tip-top racing condition and the great competition responded with some superb racing action as most race finishes were not settled until the checkered flag fell from starter Bob Ryder. Another beautiful summer day in the Hudson Valley greeted a large enthusiastic crowd and a full field of talented racers as the Accord Speedway was successful in presenting only their ninth racing show of the 2009 racing season. With rain falling throughout the Hudson Valley on Wednesday, the prospects of starting a show let alone completing one seemed like just another sad story in a 2009 racing season that has seen Mother Nature halt one racing show after another all along the East Coast.
